Opportunities
Solar and clean energy
Rent your land or your roof for solar and earn a steady income for decades. For commercial buildings, churches, schools, government buildings and landowners.
Velocity Strategies’ partners pay property owners to host a solar farm on their property. Whether it is a commercial building, a church or raw land, you may be able to earn income from your property for 20 years or more.
We work with our team to identify and negotiate with landowners and their representatives to buy or lease land and properties to host solar farms.

The process
How it works with landowners
Property identification
We identify properties with strong potential to host renewable power. Our team does diligence on each site and, for the most promising ones, offers an option to lease or an option to purchase.
Property site agreement
Every site and owner is different, so we work with each owner to meet the needs of that project. Typically our team members sign either an option to lease or an option to purchase with the owner.
Development
You collect an option payment and keep using your land until construction. Our team manages the project, environmental studies, system design, permits and agreements, and builds the project as soon as possible.
Ongoing operations
A solar project typically generates power for 20 to 40 years. It is low-maintenance and quiet. Our team members keep the grounds landscaped and pay rent to the owner.
The ideal property
What makes a good site?
A short list of what is considered when a property is secured to host a solar project.
Large commercial rooftops
Commercial buildings, churches, schools, government buildings and others.
- How much unencumbered space is on the roof
- Whether it is flat or south-facing
- Access to the grid nearby
- Who uses the power: the owner or a tenant
- How much weight the roof can support
Let’s talk if your building has not worked for traditional solar panels: our team has access to some of the lightest solar materials in North America, so we may be able to help where conventional products could not.
Raw land
Relatively flat, open ground near the grid.
- Limited wetlands
- No endangered species
- Access to the grid nearby
- Relatively flat and south-facing
- 5 to 25 acres of developable land
Larger sites are possible but present their own challenges. If you own 80 acres or more on or near a transmission line, we may be able to develop a larger project on your land, and we want to hear from you.
